4.5.2 Test.
4.5.2.1 Production run-in. Start and operate each distributor for a period not less than one hour to
assure operation of all components and to allow for minor adjustments. All controls shall be manipulated.
Evidence of leakage, malfunction, permanent deformation or inability of the distributor to operate as
specified shall constitute failure of this test.
4.5.2.2 Travel. The distributor, with lights on, shall be operated as specified in table II. The
distributor shall be completely assembled and serviced. Test course or area shall be selected by the
contractor. Evidence of malfunction, permanent deformation or damage shall constitute failure of this test.

4.5.2.3 Axle and suspension check. To determine conformance to 3.8.3, 3.8.3.1, and 3.8.3.3, the
complete suspension system and components shall be checked for proper assembly, installation; whenever
seals are used, they shall be checked for proper installation as required to preclude leakage of lubricants
and entrance of foreign matter into bearings. Failure to conform to 3.8.3, 3.8.3.1, and 3.8.3.3 shall
constitute failure of this test.
