4.3 First article inspection.
4.3.1 Examination. Each distributor shall be examined as specified in 4.5.1. Presence of one
or more defects shall be cause for rejection.
4.3.2 Tests. Tests marked by "X" in column I of table I shall be performed. Failure of any
test shall be cause for rejection.
4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Each vehicle, without payload and with lighting system
on, shall be operating for a distance of not less than fifteen miles. After the fifteen mile run, the
vehicle shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.5.1. Each vehicle, completely assembled,
adjusted, and serviced, shall then be subjected to the tests marked by an X in column 2 of table I.
